Module 1

Well here I go again!

Another exciting adventure into the technological world...this time with iPads!!

I have had a personal iPad1 for some time and absolutely love it! It has been a wonderful learning experience!
As an ESL teacher I have also been fortunate enough to have a number of iPads to use with my students!

Now I look forward to exploring so many more exciting ways to use this tool with my very eager to learn students!

ibooks

I have used the  ibooks  app  for storing knitting patterns on my personal iPad and love its flexibilty.

For my students there are many benefits from reading books and PDF's to bookmarking, highlighting, using a dictionary to adding notes all with the simple use of a finger or swipe! Plus everything you could possibly need is at your fingertips no more scrounging around for a pencil or paper or post it note!

As a teacher I love the fact that books can be stored in collections or in my case ESL classes.

Camera

The camera is easy to use and my students enjoy using this tool as part of their learning.

Students:
  • take photos of their work
  • record themselves and other ESL students
  • take screenshots of their work
  • take photos to use with apps. eg jigzo

With so many apps students can use I have created folders for the apps. As a class we also delete running apps after each lesson.
